YOU DRIVE. WE GUIDE.

Drive Rocky Gap – An Official Jeep Badge of Honor Trail

Our Red Rock Canyon Jeep Tour puts you behind the wheel of a modified Jeep Rock Crawler for one of the most exciting off-road adventures near Las Vegas. You’ll take on Rocky Gap Road, an official Jeep Badge of Honor trail surrounded by spectacular desert scenery.

This is not a sightseeing tour where you sit in the passenger seat. YOU DRIVE the Rock Crawler while your experienced guide leads the way and communicates with you by radio. Rocky Gap combines rocky terrain, technical sections and incredible views for a true Jeep tour off-road rock crawling experience.

Our modified Jeep Rock Crawlers are built for challenging terrain with 40-inch tires, lockers and one-ton axles. Before hitting the trail, your guide provides a safety briefing and shows you how to handle the Rock Crawler and the obstacles along the way.

Whether you’re an experienced off-road driver or trying rock crawling for the first time, our guides help you navigate Rocky Gap at a pace appropriate for your group.

Located just outside Las Vegas, our Red Rock Canyon Jeep Tour combines dramatic sandstone scenery with the rugged terrain of Rocky Gap, an official Jeep Badge of Honor trail.

Explore More Than the Trail

Your Red Rock Canyon Jeep Tour combines spectacular desert scenery with the opportunity to explore Rocky Gap, taking you beyond the paved scenic loop and onto rugged terrain most visitors never experience.

Surrounded by dramatic sandstone mountains and Mojave Desert scenery, you get the best of both worlds — the beauty of Red Rock Canyon combined with a true off-road driving experience behind the wheel of a modified Rock Crawler.

Drive an Official Jeep Badge of Honor Trail

Rocky Gap is an official Jeep Badge of Honor trail, recognized as one of the notable off-road trails Jeep enthusiasts can experience across the country.

On our Red Rock Canyon Jeep Tour, YOU DRIVE a modified Rock Crawler through Rocky Gap with an experienced guide leading the way. Whether you’re an experienced off-road driver or trying rock crawling for the first time, completing this Badge of Honor trail makes this much more than an ordinary Las Vegas sightseeing tour.

Get three adventures in one: a Red Rock Canyon Jeep Tour, Rocky Gap off-roading, and an official Jeep Badge of Honor Trail.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

WHAT TO WEAR

Summer: Shorts and T-shirts are recommended. Lightweight, breathable clothing is best for warmer desert temperatures.

Spring & Fall: Light layers are recommended. Mornings may be cooler, with temperatures warming throughout the day.

Winter: Bring a jacket or sweatshirt and dress in layers. Desert mornings can be cold.

Year-Round: Closed-toe shoes are required. Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats are recommended.

SUMMER COMFORT & HYDRATION

Plenty of ice-cold water is provided to help you stay comfortable and hydrated on the trail.

Our Rock Crawlers are equipped with front air conditioning and soft tops with removable windows. The A/C helps take the edge off warmer temperatures while still keeping the open-air feel of a true off-road adventure.

WEATHER & TRAIL CONDITIONS

Desert weather and trail conditions can change quickly. Our purpose-built Rock Crawlers are designed for challenging off-road terrain and changing desert conditions.

Tours generally continue in rain, cold and other normal weather conditions. Your guide will continually assess trail conditions and safety. If a section becomes unsafe, we’ll turn around or adjust the route and continue the adventure where conditions safely allow.

Tours may be delayed, modified or canceled in severe weather, including lightning, flash-flood conditions or other unsafe conditions.

DRIVING ROCKY GAP

No previous off-road experience is required. Before hitting the trail, your guide will explain the Rock Crawler controls, proper use of the lockers, radio communication and hand signals.

Rocky Gap is a hands-on driving adventure, so drivers need to stay alert, listen to their guide and follow instructions. Your guide communicates with you by radio and, when needed, steps outside of the guide Jeep to spot you through obstacles, using hand and verbal signals to help you safely navigate the terrain.

THE ROCKY GAP ROUTE

Your 4.5-hour tour is a round trip from our shop at 3575 W. Naples Dr, including the drive to Red Rock, the scenic loop, the Rocky Gap trail and the return to Las Vegas.

The scenic loop: We drive the first 7 miles of the Red Rock Canyon scenic loop, taking in the canyon views before we turn off at Willow Springs.

Willow Springs, before the trail: At Willow Springs we air down our tires, engage 4-wheel drive and hold a quick safety meeting before starting Rocky Gap.

Switchbacks and canyon views: The climb begins with approximately 5 miles of switchbacks and sweeping canyon views as you work your way up toward the summit.

The summit: At approximately 6,500 feet, the summit is the highest point of the tour and the last stop before the Rock Garden.

The Rock Garden: This is the technical heart of the trail. You crawl approximately a quarter mile in, then turn around and crawl approximately a quarter mile back out a different way.

The descent: From the Rock Garden, we head back down the switchbacks. Going down gives you completely different views than the climb up.

Willow Springs and petroglyphs: Before we head back, we stop at Willow Springs again for a quick break. If you’d like, there is an approximately ¼ mile walk to check out the petroglyphs.

The rest of the scenic loop: After Willow Springs, we drive the other half of the Red Rock Canyon scenic loop before returning to Las Vegas.

Along the trail, your guide also captures photos and videos of your adventure. At the end of the trail, we’ll share a link so you can enjoy and share the memories from your off-road experience.

Listen to your guide, follow the signals and get ready for an unforgettable day of Rock Crawling on the Rocky Gap Badge of Honor trail in Red Rock Canyon.

OPEN-AIR OFF-ROAD EXPERIENCE

Our Rock Crawlers have soft tops with removable windows for a more open off-road experience. Expect normal engine, road and trail sounds along the way. It’s part of the Rock Crawling experience.
